About the event
Hello dearest dragon slayers & adventures! Come learn how to play the amazing RPG game...Dungeons & Dragons.
This class is intended for beginner players of D&D. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!
D&D is a role playing game that is a “joint storytelling experience” where the success or failure of the players is determined by their cooperative play and a roll of the dice.
This class is designed to introduce new players to the mechanics and rules of D&D as a player character. It introduces the three pillars of play: Social Encounters, Exploration, and Combat. The game is designed to teach cooperation in order to overcome problems with simple Maths and chance! In D&D you either win together or loose together!
You will learn all about the character classes as well as their benefits. We will show you how to create your character sheet with its various modifiers. In the session you will learn what the different RPG dice are used for, when and how to do skill checks, the basic rules of combat and the order in which actions can be made etc.
Once all rules and "how to play" has been covered, toward the end of the session, players will play a very brief game to apply the skills learnt and get a taste of what playing the game feels like.
There will be an interval in the session where people can stretch their legs or buy some food. There are restuarants and take away places in the shopping centre (Spur, KFC, Asia Yummy, Romans Pizza, Firehouse) and there is also a checkers. We also sell cooldrinks and some snacks.
